Why a generic recommendation often fails

The same masterbatch can behave differently across polymer grades, melt-flow ranges, equipment and finished-product structures. A product name alone does not describe the conditions that determine dispersion, processing stability or final performance.

That is why our first conversation starts with four practical facts. They are enough to route an inquiry quickly without forcing the customer to prepare a complete technical file.

1. Process or application

Tell us where the material will be used: PP spunbond, PP meltblown, SMS, XPE/IXPE foam or another process. The route matters because carrier compatibility, melt flow and the way a function is introduced can change from one process to another.

2. Base polymer and current grade

Share the base polymer and the current resin grade or MFI when known. The test condition should also be included if it is available, because melt-flow values are not fully comparable when they were measured under different conditions.

3. Target property or required standard

Describe the result you need: color, hydrophilicity, antistatic behavior, flame retardancy, UV resistance, softness, filtration performance or another target. If a test standard or customer acceptance method exists, include it at the beginning.

4. Country or region

The destination market helps identify the compliance documents, restricted-substance questions and communication route that may be relevant. It also prevents a technical discussion from being separated from the customer’s actual end use.

What happens after these four facts

We match the inquiry to a product family, identify any missing process information and prepare a practical next step. Detailed TDS files, dosage studies and trial conditions can follow when they are useful; they do not need to delay the first conversation.
