Product use & trial considerationsApplication notes
This high-flow grade (MFI 1500 ± 100 g/10 min) is intended for meltblown development work targeting finer fibers and higher filtration efficiency potential — for example, respirator media, high-efficiency air filter layers, and fine-denier industrial media. Higher melt flow allows lower-viscosity processing at a given temperature, which supports finer filament formation when the line, die, and air system can hold the narrower operating window.
The trade-off is process sensitivity. High-MFI resins respond more sharply to temperature and throughput changes, so stable results depend on line capability and operator experience. Buyers running conventional or older meltblown lines often start trials on the standard-flow grade (MFI 1200) and move up only after confirming the line can control the hotter, faster window this grade prefers.
As with any meltblown resin, finished-web efficiency and pressure drop are system results — resin, fiber formation, web structure, charging route, and conditioning all contribute. Compare candidate resins on the same line, at the same basis weight, against the same test standard before drawing conclusions.
When requesting a recommendation, share the line and die details, current resin and MFI, target fiber or efficiency range, and the applicable test method. Typical values shown here are a selection reference; a tailored TDS follows application review.
