Product use & trial considerationsApplication notes
This is an application-solution grade for the electrical (corona) charging route in PP meltblown filtration media. It is designed to support charge storage in the web, contributing to the electrostatic capture mechanism that raises filtration efficiency without a proportional rise in pressure drop.
A useful electret evaluation starts from the finished-media target, not from the masterbatch alone. Efficiency and pressure drop must be read together: a higher efficiency number is not automatically better if pressure drop moves outside the accepted range. Equally important is charge retention — an initial measurement shows only the starting condition, so the trial plan should include conditioning or aging checkpoints (storage time, temperature, humidity) rather than relying on a fresh sample alone.
This electrical route differs from water-electret processing in equipment, operating conditions, and evaluation plans; the two routes are not interchangeable and should be reviewed against the buyer's available charging equipment. Dosage is set by application because the right addition level depends on the resin, basis weight, charging conditions, and target test method.
Buyers comparing electret options should record aerosol type, flow rate, sample area, conditioning, and the applicable test standard so results are compared on the same basis. Our buyer guide on electret masterbatch selection covers the full first-review checklist.
